Abstract
Using a short-cut method to estimate Northern Hemisphere temperature and a calibration period from 1881-1975, a number of long instrumental temperature series and some time series of proxy data were used to reconstruct approximate annual temperature departures from the 1881-1975 average for the interval 1579-1880.
