Frequently Asked Questions

Here we (the readers) will answer any questions you have about the Climate Audit blog. Commonly asked questions will then be pulled out and put here on top

Q1 - Is Steve McIntyre the only one who can post a blog entry?

A1 - At least two other people have posting rights, John A and Anthony Watts. Of course Steve still has ultimate authority and might presumably pull a posting from either of them if it didn't meet his approval. But Steve has said that not everything he or others post necessarily agrees with his own position.

Q2 - How come the post numbers people quote in the CA threads don't seem to make sense?

A2 - [WWW]Steve McI: "In the software available, if I’m going to edit posts one by one, it takes me a long time to tidy posts one by one. I can move posts to Unthreaded by ticking them in a Move function and save a huge amount of time. I dislike the invasion of post after post by people arguing issues unrelated to the post. I’d ask people to simply not respond to off topic posts or to do so on Unthreaded."

So it's best to quote more than the post number in your reply. We suggest heading your reply with the original poster's name and topic.

Q3 - How do I post an image to the blog?

A3 - First you have to put it somewhere with an URL. [WWW]Picasa and [WWW]esnips are both good. Then, use the IMG tag on the little toolbar above the "post" box, and there you are! The image will show up in the preview area, if all goes well.

Q4 - How come I can't find stuff on the site with the Google search? I thought Google could find anything!

A4 - a) Not hardly.
